Project Spotlight: The Mernda Project
THE MERNDA PROJECT
Our clients had built a new home in a new estate in Mernda and required a new and stylish, low maintenance front yard. Their brief was for this yard to be the best landscaping in the street.
Our landscaping and design team worked closely with our clients to provide them with the ultimate, eye catching design that far surpassed their expectations and we believe it could even be the best landscape in Mernda.
The focal point of this landscape is this stunning metal art sculpture from award winning Entanglements. The use of corten steel is used throughout the landscape to provide continuity and tie in with the sculpture. This has been used in the garden edging and custom laser cut letterbox.
Quality artificial turf was selected for it’s low maintenance nature and life-like look in this split level landscape (read more about synthetic turf options here). Composite decking was also selected for the entry. Composite decking has the advantage of being both low maintenance and long-lasting. You can read more about the benefits of composite decking here.
Due to estate regulations, a solid fence was not permitted on the border of the property, so a border was created using recycled railway sleepers to provide some screening and privacy as well as add to the aesthetics of the landscape. This look was carried through the landscape with the use of recycled railway sleepers as a feature in the main garden bed. Low maintenance plant varieties were selected for this landscape.
